Australia's law enforcement have ended the hunt for a young boy who has been missing in the wilderness for approximately three weeks, after renewed operations proved unsuccessful to locate any signs of the child.

Chronology of Occurrences

The child was spotted engaging outside his family property on a secluded rural property close to Yunta, about a significant distance from Adelaide, on September 27th.

His grandparent left him alone for about thirty minutes before returning, only to find the boy nowhere to be found, initiating one of the largest comprehensive searches in the region's past.

Present Position

Authorities - who do not think there was criminal activity - say they will carry on investigating, but that the case has become a "recovery operation".

Recently, authorities for a short time scaled back the search, only to restart it on recently alongside eighty defense members.

"Spokesperson Grant Stevens said authorities were scanning a more extensive zone based on revised analyses from survivability and rescue professionals, rather than any new information."

Mission Obstacles

On recently, officials announced that the recent operation had not uncovered any evidence of Gus.

By means of a family representative, the Lamont family has earlier said they are "heartbroken" by their son's disappearance.

"This constitutes a trauma to our relatives and loved ones, and we are struggling to understand what has happened," Bill Harbison said.

"Their son's loss is experienced in each family member, and we long for him more than language can describe."
