Battlefield 6 Gamers Concur: Tasks Are Overly Demanding
The launch of the highly anticipated Battlefield 6 received significant enthusiasm, especially for its top-tier multiplayer mode. On Steam alone, concurrent player counts surged to nearly 750,000. Yet, despite its popularity, a growing number of players are expressing frustration over a portion of the release's toughest challenges, which are mandatory to access certain guns.
Users have commenced resorting to custom matches set up using the custom game tool to complete them, emphasizing just how grueling these challenges have become.
Comprehending BF6 Tasks
Assignments are Battlefield 6's fixed in-game challenges, as opposed to the frequently updated daily and weekly challenges. The game includes four types of assignments, but where most only reward outfits and select equipment, finishing the gun missions is the sole method of obtaining 12 of the 41 main guns found within the game.
A number of these restricted firearms could shortly make their appearance on lists of the finest arms in Battlefield 6.
Community Frustration via Reddit
Within Reddit, players are justifiably sharing their frustrations about how hard and tedious several of these challenges are. An individual player highlighted one of the most extreme examples, required to unlock the KTS100 MK8 LMG:
- Neutralize 300 foes with LMGs
- Deal 10,000 close-range damage with LMGs
"This task is so terrible and completely out of mind, I want to scream in frustration," is a quote that summarizes just how frustratingly difficult these tasks are.
Suppression in Battlefield is less effective than in previous titles in the series, so it doesn't have anywhere near as many benefits in combat as it had in previous games. It only registers as suppression if you fail to hit several consecutive shots.
Meanwhile, hipfiring an LMG is extremely unreliable and is effective only at very short distances, which isn't typically where you aim to be. The same user also pointed out the paradox in the SMG challenge, required for the SCW-10, which requires kills while aiming down the sights, when that challenge would be much better suited to hipfire kills, and the other way around.
Another Ridiculously Tough Mission
Another Reddit user highlighted another ridiculously tough challenge, within the marksman rifle class to access the PSR:
- Get 150 headshot kills beyond 200 meters with sniper rifles
This is tough enough by itself, but there's another important point to consider: most Battlefield 6 maps don't even support combat at such a long range.
There is a decent selection of map sizes, but since there are only nine levels in the game currently, it implies you must stick to playing one of the larger locales, another expansive area, and possibly an additional option if you're lucky if you aim to take long-range shots from beyond 200 meters.
The Bypass
There is a workaround though: the portal. The custom game creator is a tool that allows you to make custom game modes on the battleground of your choice, complete with bots. This implies you can bypass the intended method… but it isn't truly in line with the developer's vision.
Yet, if completing the missions in a normal session feels like anti-playing, since you have to play in such an atypical style that harms both you and your squad, who can fault a player for grinding them out in a private match so allies are not impaired?
Future Adjustments
It should not be shocking if some of these assignments are made easier in the next few updates, because if they're not, some players simply are unlikely to obtain the restricted guns.
For now, the community continues to voice their opinions on these demanding battlefield assignments, expecting a less arduous overall gameplay in coming revisions.
